BEAK X TATE MODERN LAUNCH PARTY | 14 BEERS | AFTER-HOURS ACCESS TO TURBINE HALL | DJS + LIVE DRAWING | 8 MAY 6-11PM

Earlier this year, we were honoured to be invited by Tate Modern to brew a beer in celebration of its 25th anniversary. The result is a super juicy DDH Pale called Turbine – named in honour of the gallery’s iconic Turbine Hall, which has delivered a quarter of a century of extraordinary art. The beer will be released 6 May and to celebrate we’re throwing a party at Tate Modern’s @tatecornerbar on 8 May. Join us from 6pm for a Beak tap takeover with 14 keg lines, DJ sets and live drawing with Beak creative director @jay__cover and friends, including @andrewjrae, @chrissie.macdonald and @nicolas.burrows. Access to the party is FREE or you can purchase a ticket for a beer flight and rare after-hours access to Louise Bourgeois’ Maman sculpture, which is back at Tate for the first time since 2000. Head to the link in our bio for more information and tickets, you do not want to miss this!

Will is exhbiting “LIFE” AND “MOVEMENT”

Currently up @exeterphoenixgallery in the 333 gallery soace. It is an attempt to contain drawing, to make a container for the activity of drawing. A figure, drawn into the space, after Willian Blake’s Urizen, hemmed in, or maybe comfortable in their containment, is overlaid, overlapped, with drawing. An archive of parts from the studio, cut up, reformed, layered and pieced together; a document of action and inaction, drawing and not, a montage of many little moments.

Thanks to @andycluer for the initial invitation and @mattburrows3 and @erikac_art (who also took this photo). Up until June, more photos to follow.

A collective of artists & friends working together since 2007ish

Nous Vous
Collective

Hi, nice to meet you. Welcome to our new website, an inexhaustive archive and ongoing collection of collaborative projects from the last 15 years or so of our collective practice.

We created a series of t-shirts designs for SELECTED. To celebrate the launch of the t-shirts we travelled to denmark and made two improvised, collaborative paintings each using a specific material and process referencing our individual drawings that were used on the garments.

Nous Vous began in 2007 as an informal ‘drawing ‘club’, quickly evolving into a creative studio and collaborative visual art practice.

Since then we have produced work for clients like Domino Records, Facebook, The Contemporary Art Society, Tate, The British Museum, The New York Times, Nike, Walker Arts Center & Honda.

We’ve worked on a broad range of projects including illustration & graphic design commissions, exhibitions, art direction, animation, publishing and educational programmes.

We collaborate on ambitious and large-scale projects where we can see opportunities to produce new and exciting work that challenges us. Working together allows us to combine the best bits of our individual practices and processes, creating playful & intelligent outcomes tailored to the requirements of each project.

For collaborative commissions, please contact together@nousvous.xyz

Images made to be reproduced as large scale vinyl applications on walls around Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The imagery reflects the themes of different zones and wards of teh hospital so also act as part of a system of wayfinding throughout the building.
‘A Watery Line’ sought to investigate the point where art interacts with everyday life through various forms of ‘making’. We used the multi-roomed space (formerly the HQ of Tetley brewery) to explore the different lines of enquiry within our shared practice.
Summer School programme conceived for MUDAM, Luxembourg’s contemporary art museum, coinciding with the exhibition ‘Hard to Picture: A Tribute to Ad Reinhardt’.

We acted as visiting professors from the fictional ‘HEADEYENHEART Academy’, creating a three-term curriculum based around ideas of How to Look, Feel and Think about art and the world.
Nous Vous were selected as Illustrators-in-Residence 2016/17 at the House of Illustration. Our residency was focused on exploring collaborative drawing — developing new methodologies through experimental practice-based research.
We publish(ed) books and records, our online shop will be up and running again soon.
Cheerios and 72andSunny commissioned song-writer Walter Martin and director Johnny Kelly at Nexus Studios to make four films encouraging kids to be kinder to each other.

We designed the characters before Andy Gent and his team to brought them to life, creating a cast of 98 puppets.
